Kuura, the season dog / Kuura, vuodenaikojen koira

Kuura is a special dog in many ways.  She's very energetic, which has caused a lot of problems at times.  A high energy level is usually not bad at all, but in Kuura's case it means everything but good things.  To put it shortly, Kuura simply boils over.  This is one of the reasons why training agility with Kuura has been more than challenging.  Kuura does not always concentrate on her task though she wants so much.  Add a moving handler to this scenario and I think you get the picture pretty well.  Usually we find more holes in Pasi's clothes than Kuura has performed obstacles after a training session.

Kuura may boil over in agility but in obedience she's magnificent.  She's calm, she concentrates, listens and is very controlled in her behaviour.  When training obedience Pasi's got a totally different dog to work with and it really pleases me to see the joy coming out of this teamwork. 

Though Kuura is temperamental and hot natured her coat is clearly of a different opinion at the moment.  It's everything but thick and warm when Kuura has been dropping it as the trees are shedding their leaves in the fall.  I can't say Kuura is a very stunning sight today, but Pasi is satisfied and calls her his sport model.  Being a winter model Kuura's name really suits her perfectly.  Kuura means frost or rime in Finnish.  Being almost naked, the colour of the thin coat she still wears is like a frost work on the window a cold winter morning, beautiful and silvery.

Kuura on monin tavoin erilainen koira.  Se on erittäin energinen mikä on aiheuttanut paljon ongelmia.  Korkea energisyystaso ei yleensä ole huono asia, mutta Kuuran tapauksessa se tarkoittaa kaikkea muuta kuin hyvää.  Lyhyesti sanoen, Kuuralla yksinkertaisesti keittää yli.  Tämä on yksi syy minkä takia agilityn harjoitteleminen on ollut enemmän kuin haastavaa.  Kuura ei aina keskitty tehtäväänsä vaikka se kovasti haluaa tehdä.  Kun tähän yhtälöön lisää liikkuvan ohjaajan niin uskon asiasta saavan hyvän mielikuvan.  Yleensä Pasin vaatteista löytyy enemmän reikiä mitä Kuura on suorittanut esteitä.

Kuuralla saattaa keittää yli agilityssa mutta tokossa se on uskomaton.  Se on rauhallinen, keskittynyt, kuuntelee ja käyttäytyy erittäin hyvin.  Tokoa harjoittellessa Pasilla on aivan eri koira työskennellä ja olen todella tyytyväinen nähdessäni yhteistyöstä kumpuavan ilon.

Vaikka Kuura on temperamenttinen ja luonteeltaan kuuma koira sen turkki on tällä hetkellä selvästi asioista eri mieltä.  Se on kaikkea muuta kuin paksu ja lämmin kun Kuura on pudottanut sen kuin puut lehtensä syskyllä.  En voi sanoa Kuuran nyt olevan kovinkaan tyrmäävä, mutta Pasi on tyytyväinen ja sanoo sitä urheilumallikseen.  Ollakseen talvimalli Kuuran nimi sopii sille täydellisesti.  Ollakseen miltei alaston, ohuen turkin väri on talvisena aamuna ikkunassa olevan kuuran värinen, kaunis ja hopeinen.
