First steps on Finnish soil / Ensiaskeleet Suomen maaperällä

Our first weeks with Brie have been just wonderful.  Brie is such a little big girl, a marvellous package!  She entered our house, made friends with the pack, ate and slept tight for almost seven hours.

The next day we explored the surroundings and Brie got her first touch with our agility course by sniffing at tunnels and weaving poles.  She was quite amazed when Della and Kuura ran through the tunnels while playing with her.  Instead of following them, Brie tried to catch them when they got out of the tunnels by chasing their tails.  Such a clever little cutie!

The other day Brie redecorated our living-room, not by tearing things apart but placing herself on to a shelf in our bookcase.  Obviously Brie knows how precious she is.

When it comes to our dogs, Della is the one that Brie's just got to respect.  Della is the leader of the pack, but though Della has shown her famous smile to Brie a few times, they eat and sleep next to each other without any problem.  Brie sure knows her limits with Della.

Though we've brought a puppy into the house again, Taika has not spent three days under the kitchen table this time as she did when Kuura entered our home.  Taika still avoids any closer encounters with Brie and prefers to keep Brie on a safe distance.  At feeding time Taika forgets about her fear for puppies for a second or two and would love to share a puppy meal with Brie.  The amazing power of food and a sheltie that's always hungry..!

Kuura on the other hand has really impressed me.  As I have told you before, Kuura is still the madcap of the house.  Kuura is a very intense dog with a high activity level and I was afraid she would hurt little Brie by mistake.  How wrong I have been!  Kuura has really showed us a new side with a great amount of patience.  She stands Brie's fearless attacks, Brie is allowed to bite her, hang from her tail and twitch her ears.  Kuura should probably be a very good mother.

I hope Brie loves her new home here in Finland as much as we love her.  Brie is more than precious to us.

Hollantilainen leidi Suomessa.

Ensimmäiset viikot Brien kanssa ovat olleet mahtavia!  Brie on niin pieni suuri koira, ihmeellinen pakkaus!  Hän tuli taloon, ystävystyi lauman kanssa, söi ja nukkui sitkeästi miltei seitsemän tuntia.

Seuraavana päivänä tutustuimme ympäristöön ja Brie sai ensikosketuksen agilityrataamme nuuhkimalla putkia ja pujottelukeppejä.  Hän oli aika hämmästynyt kun Della ja Kuura juoksivat putkiin aina leikkien välissä.  Brie ei yrittänyt seurata heitä vaan yritti ottaa niitä kiinni ja tarttua häntään niiden tulleessa putkesta.  Fiksu pikku söpöläinen!

Toisena päivänä Brie sisusti olohuoneemme, ei repimällä esineitä pois vaan asettumalla itse kirjahyllyymme.  Ilmeisesti Brie tietää miten arvokas hän on.

Mitä tulee koiriimme, Della on se jotain Brie tulee kunnioittaa.  Della on lauman johtaja, mutta vaikka Della on muutaman kerran näyttänyt kuuluisan  hymyn Brielle, he syövät ja nukkuvat vierekkäin ilman ongelmia.  Brie tietää rajansa Dellan suhteen.

Vaikka taas toimme pennun taloon, Taika ei tällä kertaa viettänyt kolmea päivää keittiön pöydän alla kuten hän teki kun Kuura tuli taloon.  Taika välttelee vielä lähempää kontaktia Brien kanssa ja pysyttelee turvallisen välimatkan päässä.  Ruoka-aikaan Taika tosin unohtaa pentupelkonsa muutamaksi sekunniksi ja haluaa jakaa pentuaterian Brien kanssa.  Ruoan ihmeellinen voima ja sheltti jolla on aina nälkä..!

Kuura on todella tehnyt minuun vaikutukseen.  Kuten aikaisemmin olen kertonut, Kuura on edelleen talon villikko.  Kuura on erittäin innokas ja aktiivinen koira ja pelkäsin se satuttavan pikku Brietä vahingossa.  Miten väärässä olinkaan!  Kuura on todella näyttänyt täysin uuden puolensa uskomattomalla määrällä kärsivällisyyttä.  Se kestää Brien pelottomat hyökkäykset , Brie saa purra häntä, roikkua hännässä ja vetää korvista.  Kuurasta tulisi varmasti hyvä emo.

Toivottavasti Brie pitää uudesta kodistaan täällä Suomessa yhtä paljon kuin me rakastamme häntä.  Brie on enemmän kuin arvokas meille.

Christmas at Midsummer / Joulu Juhannuksena

Some things in life are almost too good to be true.  We're blessed with such good friends who are also blessed with the same kind of lovely friends.  These friends of ours, Ria and Rami, already tried to get us a sheltie from Holland a few years ago, but unfortunately it did not succeed back then for different reasons.  This year luck was on our side and I have brought an absolutely adorable puppy home with me from Holland.

I am not very keen on flying but for some reason I did not mind very much when I entered Finnair's plane for Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam last Friday together with Pasi, Ria and Rami.  I was like a child before Christmas waiting for Santa.

We had been in contact with the breeders, Yvonne and Roderick, for many months and last summer they also visited us during their stop in Finland before heading back to Holland.  Then I also got to meet with the mother of my puppy, Paige, and I just loved what I saw.  Paige is not just a beautiful blue merle, she's also equipped with a lovely temper.

OBrie of the Scheepdog Jumpers was born on April, 22nd.  Eight weeks later we went to Holland for a splendid Midsummer with hosts that offered us a memorable stay with all the ingredients for a top weekend.  The other day we packed our bags for getting back to Finland with a new member of the pack with us, Brie.

My first impressions of this little princess are just awesome.  At the airport of Schiphol Brie brought smiles to people's faces, she peacefully ate a small meal before our checking in surrounded by hundreds of passengers and being back in her travel bag Brie slept her trip through to Helsinki on her back with all four paws in the air.  The cabin crew's got a new mascot.

Thank you, Ria and Rami, for planning this adventure for me!  Thank you, Yvonne and Roderick, for giving me this opportunity and for trusting me with such a lovely puppy!  I am so grateful.

Jotkut asiat elämässä ovat melkein liian hyviä ollakseen totta.  Olemme onnekkaita, että meillä on ystäviä ja heillä samankaltaisia ihania ystäviä.  Nämä ystävämme, Ria ja Rami, yrittivät saada meille sheltin jo muutama vuosi sitten, mutta eivät silloin valitettavasti erinäisistä syistä onnistuneet.  Tänä vuonna onni oli meidän puolellamme ja olen tuonut Hollannista kotiin aivan ihanan pennun.

En pidä kovin paljon lentämisestä, mutta jostain syystä asia ei minua vaivannut viime perjantaina, kun astuin ulos Finnairin koneesta Schipholin lentokentällä Amsterdamissa Pasin, Rian ja Ramin kanssa.  Olin kuin lapsi jouluaattona Joulupukkia odottaessa.

Olemme pitäneet usean kuukauden ajan yhteyttä kasvattajien, Yvonnen ja Roderickin kanssa ja viime kesänä Suomen vierailullaan he kävivät myös meillä ennen paluutaan Hollantiin.  Sain silloin myös mahdollisuuden tavata pentuni emän, Paigen, ja pidin todella paljon näkemästäni.  Paige ei ole vain kaunis blue merle, hänellä on myös ihastuttava luonne.

OBrie of the Scheepdog Jumpers syntyi 22. huhtikuuta 2015.  Kahdeksan viikkoa myöhemmin matkustimme Hollantiin viettämään Juhannusta isäntäparin luo, jotka tarjosivat meille ikimuistoisen viikonlopun kaikilla mausteilla.  Toissa päivänä pakkasimme laukut palataksemme takaisin Suomeen uuden lauman jäsenen, pikku Brien, kanssa.

Ensimmäiset vaikutelmat pikku prinsessasta ovat mahtavat.  Schipholin lentokentällä Brie sai hymyn ihmisten kasvoille, hän söi rauhallisesti odottaessaan checking innissä satojen ihmisten pyöriessä ympärillä ja lennolla Helsinkiin Brie nukkui omassa laukussaan koko ajan, selällään kaikki tassut ylöspäin.  Lentoemännät olivat saaneet uuden maskotin.

Ticks / Punkkeja

I love summer.  The warmth, nature coming to life, fruit trees in beautiful blossom...  Then I remember!  Summer also brings creeping creatures like vipers, spiders and ticks.  Fortunately we have avoided ticks for almost two summers by now but this year Della succeeded in picking one from somewhere in our area only a few weeks ago.

I found it from the corner of Della's mouth and I wondered how I could have missed it, because the tick was in a really well-fed condition.  There was nothing else to do than shout for Pasi, my life-saver in cases like this, and in a second the tick was removed and killed by burning.

Though we've had a tick I am still firm in my belief that the power of garlic keeps them away.  I feed our dogs small amounts of garlic powder every morning mixed in their food.  I have done it for several years by now and all the year round.  Not one of our dogs have complained yet and the ticks have stayed away.

The one and only - I hope... 

Se yksi ja ainoa - toivottavasti...

Rakastan kesää.  Lämpöä, luonto herää eloon, hedelmäpuut kukkivat...  Sitten muistan!  Kesä tuo mukanaan myös kaikki ryömivät ja luikertelevat otukset kuten kyyt, hämähäkit ja punkit.  Olemme onneksi välttyneet punkeilta miltei kaksi vuotta, mutta tänä vuonna Della onnistui poimimaan yhden jostakin.

Löysin sen Dellan suupielestä ja ihmettelin miten olin voinut missata sen, koska se oli jo tukevassa kunnossa.  Ei ollut muuta tehtävissä kuin huutaa Pasi apuun, hengenpelastajani näissä tilanteissa, hetkessä punkki oli poistettu ja poltettu.

Vaikka meillä on ollut punkki, uskon edelleen vahvasti valkosipulin voimaan ja että se pitää punkit poissa.  Annan koirillemme pienen määrän valkosipulijauhetta joka aamu ruokaan sekoitettuna.  Olen tehnyt näin useamman vuoden ja vuoden ympäri.  Yksikään koiristamme ei ole valittanut ja punkit ovat pysyneet poissa.

23.05. Obedience Trial, Köyliö / Tottelevaisuuskoe, Köyliö

When things get going they get sometimes really going.  For two years I struggled with Della's lack of self-confidence in Class 2 in agility and I thought we will never pass on to Class 3.  Three years ago I took part in an official obedience trial and my dog left the course in the middle of the program.  Della did not stand the pressure of being close to the male judge nor his assistant, who's voice was too loud in Della's opinion.  Back then I thought we would never attend an official obedience trial again.

But, I just couldn't give up like that.  I knew what my dog could do under the right circumstances.  Della is an active dog, she loves doing obedience but being so insecure even the smallest thing can get her into a situation, where Della doesn't work anymore.

I decided to get in touch with Kati Häkli at Kontaktikoirat in Pori.  I cried for professional help and Kati arranged a place for Della in one of her groups.  This was in November 2012 and during the first six months Della got used to just being in a room with dogs very much bigger than herself.  We taught her that big and black do not always mean bad and dangerous.  Having been attacked twice while training agility Della had developed a deep fear for big black dogs.  The attacking dog only wanted to play but Della experienced it differently and the work to mend the damage has required patience, sometimes tears and more patience.

During these first six months at Kontaktikoirat I had a dog that hid under my chair in class.  When she was off the leash Della ran to the entry with her tail between her legs.  All the time I got valuable instructions from Kati and inch by inch Della got more and more brave and we could participate seriously in class.  Today I have a dog that goes to school with a tail wagging high.

After almost three years of therapy and training I just felt I had to attend a trial again.  I wanted to see where we stand today and I went to Köyliö.  In the Beginner's Class we were twelve participants, eleven working dogs and Della.  I was first out with Della.  I was quite relaxed because I had no bigger expectations.  If Della stayed by my side through the whole program, it would be an enormous personal win.

When the judge, Ilkka Steen, declared the results, Della and I had got 176 points out of 200.  Our trial was approved and we were placed fourth!  I couldn't almost believe my ears!  Thank you so much, Kati!  This is as much your win as ours.  Thanks for making the impossible possible!

Kun asiat alkavat rullata ne todella rullaavat.  Kaksi vuotta kamppailin Dellan huonon itseluottamuksen kanssa agilityn kakkosluokassa ja luulin, ettemme koskaan nousisi kolmosluokkaan.  Kolme vuotta sitten osallistuimme toko-kokeeseen ja koirani lähti kentältä kesken kisan.  Della ei kestänyt olla lähellä miestuomaria eikä liikkeenohjaajaa, jonka ääni oli Dellan mielestä liian voimakas. Silloin ajattelin, etteemme osallistuisi enää toko-kisoihin.

En osannut kuitenkaan luovuttaa toko-uraa.  Tiesin mihin koirani kykenee oikeissa olosuhteissa.  Della on aktiivinen koira ja pitää tokon treenaamisesta, mutta pienikin asia voi saada hänet epävarmaksi ja koira menee lukkoon.

Päätin ottaa yhteyttä Kontaktikoirien Kati Häkliin Porissa.  Olin epätoivoinen ja tarvitsin ammattiapua, sain Katilta paikan yhteen hänen ryhmistä.  Tämä tapahtui marraskuussa 2012 ja ensimmäiset kuusi kuukautta Della totutteli olemaan samassa huoneessa muiden koirien kanssa, paljon isompienkin.  Opetimme hänelle, ettei iso ja musta ole aina paha ja vaarallinen, oltuaan kahdesti agilitytreeneissä hyökkäyksen kohteena, Dellalle oli tullut syvä pelko suuria mustia koiria kohtaan.  Dellaa kohti hyökännyt koira halusi vain leikkiä, mutta Della tunsi toisin ja kaikki työ tämän korjaamiseen on vaatinut kärsivällisyyttä, joskus kyynneleitä ja lisää kärsivällisyyttä.

Ensimmäiset kuusi kuukautta luokassa koira piiloutui tuolini alle.  Vapaana olleessaan Della juoksi ulko-ovelle häntä koipen välissä.  Sain kaiken aikaa arvokkaita neuvoja Katilta ja pikkuhiljaa Dellasta tuli rohkeampi ja pystyimme osallistumaan enemmän luokan harjoituksiin.  Nyt minulla on koira joka menee kouluun häntä heiluen.

Miltei kolmen vuoden terapian ja harjoitusten jälkeen tunsin, että minun oli pakko kokeilla kisata uudelleen.  Halusin nähda miten pitkälle olimme päässeet ja menimme Köyliöön.  Alokasluokassa oli 12 osallistujaa, 11 palveluskoiraa ja Della.  Startasin Dellan kanssa ensimmäisenä.  Olin rento, koska minulla ei ollut suuria odotuksia.  Jos Della pysyi rinnallani koko kisan läpi olisi se suuri henkilökohtainen voitto.

Kun tuomari Ilkka Steen ilmoitti tulokset, Della ja minä olimme saaneet 176 pistettä 200:sta.  Saimme ykköstuloksen ja sijoituimme neljänneksi!  En ollut uskoa korviani!  Kiitos paljon, Kati!  Tämä on myös sinun voittosi.  Kiitos, että teit mahdottomasta mahdollisen!

16.-17.05. ÅBSK, Torp

There's no real spring without competing in agility in the Åland Islands with our friends and taking part of the annual Zorro Cup.  For me our trip to Åland is one of the absolute highlights of the year.  I get to meet with friends and to enjoy speaking my native language.  The Åland Islands are situated in the beautiful archipelago between Finland and Sweden and visiting Åland is a bit like coming home for me.

Though these spring competitions arranged by Ålands Bruks- och Sällskapshundklubb rf (ÅBSK) always will remind me of the loss of Pinja in 2012, I just can't stay away.  The place where the competitions are held is like picked from a travel magazine, it's idyllic, the feeling during the whole weekend is relaxed, the spirit is high and the people friendly.  We've made so many precious friends during our Åland trips and last but not least - Della's career as an agility dog started here with a win.

Since then it has taken me three years of hard work to get Della through the classes in agility.  We've struggled with almost everything due to Della's lack of self-confidence, but it's been worth every battle.  I have learnt so much about myself, my dog and how important it is to never give up if you have faith in something.  Though I have had my serious doubts at times, my love for Della and the knowledge of her hidden capacity have given me the strength to continue.  Della has taught me to be humble and rejoice for things that may seem quite insignificant to others.  I am also lucky to be surrounded with priceless friends and among them two outstanding coaches, Kati Häkli (obedience) and Reetta Pirttikoski (agility).  Without all these great people and their amazing unflagging support I would never have achieved what I have today - a dog that puts up with different kinds of pressure and a handler that got faith in herself.

On Sunday, May 17th, Della made a clean run on a course designed by judge Jari Helin.  She made it so well that we won the competition and our personal success was a fact; Della had made her last start in Class 2, she got her longed for certificate and the right to compete in the highest class in agility, Class 3.  There are not enough words for for my joy nor my gratitude.  From the very bottom of my heart to all of our dear supporters - THANK YOU!

Taika and Pasi also competed during the weekend, but unfortunately Taika was not at her very best so Pasi chose to take it easy with her and cancelled three of Taika's five competitions.

Kiitos, Sinikka, näistä ihanista koirista!

Ei ole kevättä ilman jokavuotisia Zorro Cupin agilitykisoja ja ystäviä Ahvenanmaalla.  Ahvennmaan matka on minulle vuoden kohokohta.  Saan tavata ystäviäni ja puhua äidinkieltäni.  Ahvenanmaa sijaitsee kauniissa saaristossa Suomen ja Ruotsin välissä ja siellä käynti on minulle kuin tulisin kotiin.

Vaikka nämä ÅBSK:n järjestämät kisat muistuttavat aina minua Pinjan poismenosta 2012, en voi jättää niitä väliin.  Paikka missä kisat pidetään on kuin matkaesitteestä, se on idyllinen ja koko viikonlopun tunnelma on rento ja ystävällinen.  Olemme saaneet niin paljon hienoja ystäviä Ahvenanmaalta ja eikä vähiten, Dellan kisaura on alkanut siellä voitolla.

On vienyt kolme kovaa työntäytteistä vuotta saada Della kolmosiin.  Olemme taistelleet kaikesta Dellan huonon itseluottamuksen takia, mutta kaikki on ollut sen arvoista.  Olen oppinut niin paljon itsestäni, koirastani ja miten tärkeä on olla luovuttamatta ja uskoa siihen mitä tekee.  Vaikka välillä olen epäillyt, niin Della ja usko hänen kykyihinsä on antanut minulle voimia.  Della on opettanut minulle nöyryyttä ja iloa asioista, jotka muille vaikuttavat vähäpätöisiltä.  Olen myös onnekas, koska minulla on korvaamattomia ystäviä ja kaksi uskomatonta valmentajaa, Kati Häkli (toko) ja Reetta Pirttikoski (agility).  Ilman näitä uskomattomia ystäviä ja valmentajaa ja heidän väsymätöntä tukea, en olisi saavuttanut sitä mitä minulla on tänään - koira joka kestää monenlaisia paineita ja ohjaaja, joka uskoo itseensä.

Sunnuntaina 17. toukokuuta Della suoritti puhtaan radan Jari Helinin tuomaroimana.  Suoritus oli niin hyvä, että voitimme kisan ja teimme viimeisen kakkosluokan startin ja saavutimme viimeisen sertifikaatin ja siirtymisen kolmosluokkaan.  Minulla ei ole riittävästi sanoja osoittaakseni kaikkea sitä iloa ja kiitollisuutta.  Toivotan sydämeni pohjasta kaikille tukijoille - KIITOS!

Taika ja Pasi kisasivat myös viikonlopun aikana, mutta valitettavasti Taika ei ollut iskussa ja Pasi päätti antaa Taikan levätä ja perui kolme starttia viidestä.

09.-10.05. Harjavalta Group Show and Sheltie Specialty Show

Time just flies and again we can look back upon a successfully arranged annual Group Show in Harjavalta.  This year our program also included a Specialty Show for Shelties on Sunday, which meant that you could compete for certificates for two days for your sheltie.  On Saturday we had the normal group show, where the shelties were judged by Lidija Oklescen from Slovenia.  The ring of the Sheltie Specialty Show for bitches on Sunday was hosted by Mrs. Gail E Richardson from Great Britain.

Della and Kuura were attending both shows but without higher expectations of the final outcome.  We have the most wonderful dogs but they are no actual show dogs.  Della's got a bit too round eyes and Kuura was still missing that lovely coat of hers.

I am very proud of Della because she behaved just great.  Della let the judges examine her thoroughly on the table, she did not avoid contact and was much more relaxed than before.  Della was judged VG (Very Good) by both judges but for me it was as good as EXC (Excellent) bearing Della's history in mind.

Kuura got VG from Lidija on Saturday and G (Good) from Gail on Sunday.  Both judges mentioned Kuura's miserable coat condition in their judgement. What would it have been if our Lady Grey had been in coat..?

Mr. Jim H Peach judged the male shelties at the Specialty Show.  Afterwards we heard that his and Mrs. Richardson's overall opinions of Finnish shelties at the Specialty Show, were that our dogs are too big with too big heads.  They did not at all like the mix of American and British shelties, a mix that will eventually destroy the breed.  They also had wished to see dogs in better show condition, many of the shelties had not been groomed enough.

I have always said that attending a dog show is a hard game.  It all depends on what the judge likes or not.  You can't do anything about it though YOU KNOW you have the world's most wonderful dog.

In my opinion, the judgement are quite poor, especially for a specialty show.  I would have liked to see some more text.  The fee for entering a show is after all not the cheapest one.

Aika rientää ja takana on taas hyvin onnistunut jokavuotinen Harjavallan Ryhmänäyttely.  Tänä vuonna ohjelmassa oli myös shelttien erikoisnäyttely sunnuntaina, mikä tarkoitti, että oli mahdollista saavuttaa kaksi serttiä samana viikonloppuna.  Lauantaina meillä oli normaali ryhmänäyttely, jossa sheltit arvosteli Lidija Oklescen Sloveniasta.  Shelttien erikoisnäyttelyssä narttujen kehän arvosteli Rouva Gail E Richardson Iso-Britanniasta.

Sekä Della että Kuura osallistuivat molempiin nättelyihin ilman suurempia odotuksia.  Meillä on aivan ihania koiria, mutta ne eivät ole mitään näyttelykoiria.  Dellalla on hieman liian pyöreät silmät ja Kuura kaipasi kovasti turkkiaan.

Olen todella ylpeä Dellasta, koska se käytäyttyi hienosti.  Tuomarit saivat tutkia häntä huolellisesti pöydällä, Della ei väistänyt ja se oli paljon rennompi kuin aikaisemmin.  Della sai EH (Erittäin Hyvä) molemmilta tuomareilta mutta minusta se oli yhtä hyvä kuin ERI (Erinomainen) Dellan taustaa ajattellen.

Kuura sai EH Lidijalta lauantaina ja H (Hyvä) Gaililta sunnuntaina.  Molempien tuomareiden arvosteluissa luki Kuuran vähäisestä turkista.  Mitä olisikaan ollut jos Lady Greyllä olisikin ollut turkki..?

Herra Jim H Peach arvosteli urossheltit erikoisnäytelyssä.  Myöhemmin saimme kuulla, että hänen ja Rouva Richardsonin yleinen mielipide Suomen shelteistä oli, että koirat ovat liian isoja liian isoilla pääillä.  He eivät ollenkaan pidä amerikkalaisen ja englantilaisen shelttien sekoituksesta, mikä heidän mielestään loppujen lopuksi tuhoa rodun.  He olisivat myöskin toivoneet näkevänsä shelttejä paremmassa näyttelykunnossa, monia ei ollut laitettu riittävästi show kuntoon.

Olen aina sanonut, että näyttely on vaikea laji.  Kaikki riippuu siitä mistä tuomari pitää tai ei pidä.  Sille ei voi mitään vaikka ITSE TIEDÄT, että koirasi on maailman paras.

"Hyvä koko ja hyvät rungon mittasuhteet, pään oikea muoto.  Liian kapea rintakehä.  Suoraat kulmaukset edessä, oikeat takana.  Turkki ei näyttelykunnossa.  Hyvät askeleet ja etenemä."

"Hyvä koko ja hyvät rungon mittasuhteet.  Kapea kuono ja hieman pyöreät silmät, lyhyt kaula.  Suoraat kulmaukset edessä, riittävän hyvät takana.  Hyvälaatuinen turkki.  Tasapainoiset liikkeet."

Kuuran arvostelu / Luokka NUO / Tuomari: Gail E Richardson, Iso-Britannia:

"19 kuukautta.  Täysin ilman turkkia.  Isokokoinen.  Täytyy rauhoittua pöydällä sekä liikkeessä.  Hyvät korvat."

Dellan arvostelu / Luokka AVO / Tuomari: Gail E Richardson, Iso-Britannia:

"Trikki 5 vuotta.  Oikean kokoinen.  Hienot korvat.  Seisoi ja liikkui hyvin, hyvin esitetty."

Minusta olisi ollut kiva saada enemmän tekstiä arvosteluun, eritysesti kun on kyseessä erikoisnäyttely.  Osallistumismaksu on kuitenkin aika kova.

Della got trousers the other day.  Not that it was necessary, because we have not even noticed that Della's been on heat.  There's been no blood stains anywhere.  Della has taken care of everything very well.

If Della has been getting dressed we have an opposite situation with Kuura.  Still a few weeks ago Kuura had a lovely coat.  Today Kuura is definitely not a dog for a dog show, she looks just miserable.  The problem is that we have two shows coming up and the other one is also a Sheltie Specialty Show...  It's not just fair!

Della ja hänen vaaleanpunainen suoja ja lyhytkarvainen Kuura.

Della sai housut muutama päivä sitten.  Ei siksi, että se olisi ollut tarpeellista, koska me emme edes olleet huomanneet, että Dellalla on ollut juoksut.  Emme edes ole nähneet verta missään.  Della on hoitanut kaiken todella hyvin.

Jos Dellalle olisikin tarvinnut pukea housut, Kuuran kanssa on ollut päin vastoin.  Vielä pari viikkoa sitten Kuuralla oli ihana turkki.  Kuurasta ei todellakaan ole koiraa näyttelyyn tällä hetkellä, hän näyttää surkealta.  Ongelmana on, että meillä on kaksi näyttelyä tulossa, joista toinen on vielä shelttien erikoisnäyttely...  Se ei vain ole reilua!

Dellan turkin tilanne on vielä hyvä, mutta kuka tietää huomisesta..?
