02.04. Non-official obedience trial / Möllitoko

Last Sunday we participated in a non-official obedience trial in Pori.  It was a very challenging day in many ways.  The field for the trial was soaking wet after the heavy showers of rain the day before.  The outdoor field brought new experiences by exciting scents that especially captured the noses of the more unskilled and younger dogs.  Brie for example just couldn't resist to taste the small brown pearls left on the ground by a generous city rabbit.  The noise of the vivid traffic from the street nearby also added its own spice to the trial.

Della was the first one of our dogs to show her skills in the ring and she really surprised me in the Open Class.  Della scored 256 points, which would have been an approved result in an official trial.  There were seven dogs in the class and Della came in third so I was happily satisfied.

Brie took part in the Novice Class and scored 152 points.  To be approved she should have needed 160 points.  Brie got top scores in 6 of her 7 exercises but due to a crazy moment of joy when she should stay down for a minute we lost 40 points!  The handsome Lancashire Heeler boy lying next to her was just too lovely to ignore.

Kuura was the true star of our team this day.  She took part in the same class as Brie that is in the Novice Class.  The teamwork between Kuura and Pasi was so nice to watch.  Kuura stayed calm and she concentrated through the whole trial.  There's no wonder they got top scores (190 points out of 200) and were placed second best of eleven contestants.

Harmaan päivän kolme pientä tähteä.

Osallistuimme viime sunnuntaina epäviralliseen tottelevaisuuskokeeseen Porissa.  Päivä oli haastava monin tavoin.  Koekenttä oli läpimärkä edellisen päivän kaatosateen jäljiltä.  Ulkokenttä toi myös uusia jännitäviä kokemuksia joka vangitsi etenkin nuorien ja kokemattomien koirien neniä.  Esimerkiksi Brie ei voinut vastustaa pienten ruskeiden helmien makua joita paikalle oli jättäneet anteliaan kaupunkijäniksen.  Lähikadun vilkkaan liikenteen melu toi myös oman mausteensa kokeeseen.

Koiristamme ensimmäisenä kehässä näytti taitonsa Della ja hän todella yllätti minut avoimessa luokasssa (AVO).  Della sai 256 pistettä, mikä olisi virallisessa kokeessa ollut hyväksytty tulos.  Luokassa oli seitsemän koiraa ja Dellan sijoitus oli kolmas joten olin hyvin tyytyväinen.

Brie osallistui alokasluokkaan (ALO) ja sai kokoon 152 pistettä.  Hyväksyttyyn tulokseen olisi tarvittu 160 pistettä.  Brie sai huippupisteet 6:sta kaikkiaan 7:stä osa-alueesta, mutta menetti 40 pistettä paikkamakuussa hauskan hullutteluhetken takia!  Komea Lancashire Heeler-poika vieressä oli liian ihana jättää huomiotta.

Teamin päivän todellinen tähti oli Kuura.  Se osallistui samaan alokasluokkaan (ALO) kuin Brie.  Kuuran ja Pasin yhteistyötä oli hieno katsoa.  Kuura pysyi tyynenä ja keskittyi koko kokeen ajan.  Ei ihme, että he saivat huippupisteet (190 pistettä 200:sta pisteestä) ja sijoittui 2. yhdestätoista koirakosta.
