It's quite well-known that Pasi is not at all fond of dog shows but he's kind and comes along, because he knows how much it means to me. I have never had a perfect show dog though I dream of it a lot. My dogs have all been judged EXC (Excellent) but that's it. I have never been in the top four competition in an official dog show so therefore the non-official shows have become valuable compensations for me. Usually our dogs have succeeded more or less at such events. This time it was Kuura's turn to shine in the show ring.
The purpose with the current show was to support a talented young handler from our area and her trip to the Agility European Open Junior competitions (EOJ 2017) in Luxembourg in July. For the sake of a good cause I signed three of our dogs up for a ring adventure - Della, Kuura and Brie.
At a match show the dogs compete in pairs and the judge hands out a red or a blue ribbon to each contestant. The red ribbon goes to the the winner of the duel. This time Della was rewarded with the blue ribbon while Kuura and Brie both enjoyed red ones. After the duels all the red ribbon dogs compete against each other and the same goes for the dogs awarded with the blue ribbon. The winner of each group, that is the winners from large adult dogs red and blue, small adult dogs red and blue and puppies large and small breeds red and blue, will continue to the final contest, the Best In Show.
Kuura got it all right in the ring for small adult dogs and won the heart of the so important judge. The other contestants, including Della and Brie, had no chances this day. It was all Kuura's show and it was with joy I saw her win the red ribbon group.
There were eight lovely dogs, all of different breeds, in the final competition and the two judges had some really nice pondering to do. All the dogs in the Best In Show were very good representatives of their breeds, they moved and behaved well. Pasi did an excellent job and showed Kuura so well they came in third, which isn't bad of a handler that is not at all keen on dog shows! What a great day!

On yleisesti tiedetty, ettei Pasi ole mikään koiranäyttelyiden ystävä, mutta hän on kiltti ja tulee mukaan, koska tietää miten paljon ne merkitsevät minulle. Minulla ei ole koskaan ollut täydellistä näyttelykoiraa vaikka olen sellaisesta paljon haaveillut. Koirani on aina arvosteltu ERI (Erinomainen) ja se siitä. Virallisissa koiranäyttelyissä en ole koskaan ollut neljän parhaan joukossa joten siksi mätsäreistä on tullut tärkeä korvike minulle. Koiramme menestyvät usein miten enemmän tai vähemmän niissä. Tällä kertaa oli Kuuran vuoro loistaa kehässä.
Tämän kertaisen match show:n tarkoitus oli tukea paikallisen nuoren ohjaajan Agility European Open Junior (EOJ 2017) kisamatkaa Luxenburgiin heinäkuussa. Hyvän asian puolesta ilmoitin tapahtumaan kolme koiraa - Dellan, Kuuran ja Brien.
Match Showssa koirat kisaavat pareittain ja tuomari jakaa toiselle punaisen ja toiselle sinisen nauhan. Punaisen nauhan saaja on parin voittaja. Tällä kertaa Della sai sinisen nauhan kun taas Kuura ja Brie saivat punaisen nauhan. Parikilpailun jälkeen punaisen nauhan saaneet kisaavat toisiaan vastaan ja samoin sinisen nauhan saaneet. Jokaisen ryhmän voittaja, isojen aikuisten, pienten aikuisten punainen ja sininen, samoin kuin isojen rotujen ja pienten rotujen pentujen punaisten ja sinisten ryhmien voittajat, jatkavat finaaliin eli Best in Showhun.
Kuura pärjäsi hyvin pienten aikuisten ryhmässä ja mielytti eniten tuomaria. Muilla kilpailijoilla, Della ja Brie mukaan lukien, ei ollut mahdollisuuksia. Kisa oli Kuuran showta ja oli ilo nähdä sen voittavan punaisten ryhmän.
Loppukilpailussa oli kahdeksan eri rotuista hienoa koiraa ja kahdella tuomarilla oli mukavaa ratkottavaa sijoituksissa. Kaikki Best in Show:n koirat olivat rotunsa hienoja edustajia, ne liikkuivat ja käyttäytyivät hienosti. Pasi esitti Kuuran niin hienosti, että sijoittuivat kolmanneksi, mikä ei ollut ollenkaan hullummin esittäjältä joka ei pidä koiranäyttelyistä! Mikä hieno päivä!.
